Project Description
Transforming Atlanta’s southside into a thriving Aerotropolis with seamless connectivity, strategic investment, and innovation.
The Atlanta Aerotropolis Blueprint 2.0, developed by MXD and Pond, outlines a comprehensive strategy to transform the area surrounding Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport into a thriving Aerotropolis. The project focuses on developing targeted investment strategies to enhance the region for current and future residents, businesses, and property owners. It aims to establish a robust workforce development ecosystem, ensuring the area is equipped to support economic growth and innovation. Additionally, the Blueprint emphasizes creating actionable projects that the Aerotropolis Alliance can implement to foster a high-quality environment.
A key aspect of the project is the development of a seamless mobility network, designed to improve connectivity between the airport, businesses, and residential areas, thereby facilitating efficient movement and boosting the region’s overall accessibility and appeal.
The Blueprint 2.0 document was submitted to the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance and quickly generated private development interest for catalytic sites that were identified by the consulting team. It has also been used as a marketing tool by the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and AAA to increase awareness of the opportunities for investment on the southside of Atlanta.
