Economic Development Strategy – Grande Prairie Regional Airport
MXD was retained by the City of Grande Prairie in 2024 to prepare the Economic Development Visioning Strategy (EDVS), a forward-looking initiative focused on optimizing the role the regional airport to support long-term regional economic and land use objectives. The work was conducted in collaboration with City Economic Development & Planning staff and elected officials and involved in-depth engagement with key stakeholders across Grande Prairie’s major economic sectors. Following the completion of the EDVS MXD was further engaged to advance a more detailed Development Strategy, exploring optimal land use planning approaches and implementation pathways to position GPA as a key economic catalyst for the region.
