Driving Sydney’s growth with a unified Aerotropolis strategy centered on the new Sydney 2 International Airport.
MXD worked alongside Jacobs and Deloitte to explore Strategic Economic Positioning strategies for the multi-jurisdictional Sydney Region, that would consider adopting Aerotropolis and Airport-Connected Development approaches and leverage the proposed new Sydney 2 International Airport at Badgery’s Creek. MXD facilitated the ‘Aerotropolis Economic Opportunity Workshops’, which involved representatives from all municipal jurisdictions, as well as the New South Wales State Economic & Planning divisions and the Greater Sydney Commission. The resulting Aerotropolis Strategy has already established the guide to galvanize the Economic Framework, Identify Key Mobility & Economic Corridors, Establish Land Use and Transportation harmony across jurisdictions, Compel private property owners to develop their land, and attract Foreign businesses & investments.
