Designing interconnected Downtowns in New Cairo East to drive urban growth and vibrant mixed-use development.
MXD Development Strategists were retained by Solidere International to create two new Downtowns in the rapidly evolving New Cairo East region. MXD’s work program entailed assessing, identifying and defining the entire retail program for the new Downtown. The project will have a series of districts and nodes positioned so that they complement one another, while providing the opportunity to connect and stitch the downtown fabric together, which will incorporate a number of land-uses including hotel and office. At build-out, Eastown is forecast to have approximately 1.6 million square meters of built up area.
