Transforming HSIA into a thriving Airport City through strategic land development and mixed-use innovation.
MXD was retained to identify and define a Commercial Land Development Strategy for Halifax-Stanfield International Airport (HSIA). The strategy evaluated approximately 500 hectares of developable land at HSIA with the goal of leveraging Airport Real Estate assets to generate Non-Aeronautical Revenue and Profits. MXD performed Market & Economic Analysis of the greater Halifax area and defined how various Non-Aeronautical Revenue Generating components can optimally evolve into an “Airport City” environment.
Identifying market opportunities, MXD created a mixed-use development program and performed Financial Analysis. Working with Stantec to lay out the concept plan across the site and define all engineering details, the Optimal Airport City Commercial Development Program was created.
