Project Description
Regional growth strategy supporting housing needs, employment lands, and long-term economic prosperity across the Central Okanagan.
MXD Development Strategists Ltd. is serving as a subconsultant to the team retained by the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) to update the Regional Growth Strategy. MXD is leading two foundational technical reports, Housing and Economic Development & Prosperity, which will inform long-term growth management, land use, infrastructure, and economic development directions. For the Housing Technical Report, MXD is assessing regional housing needs, supply, tenure, affordability, and development capacity across RDCO member jurisdictions. The analysis identifies cross-boundary housing challenges and opportunities, including gaps in housing supply and opportunities to support more complete, transit-supportive communities.
For the Economic Development & Prosperity Technical Report, MXD is assessing employment lands, economic conditions, job growth, and infrastructure needs. Building on the region’s Employment Lands Inventory and economic data, the work identifies opportunities to protect and improve employment lands, support land readiness, and strengthen business retention, expansion, and investment attraction.
