Driving Winnipeg’s growth with a strategic Airport Connected Development Plan leveraging multi-modal logistics and key industries.
In order to leverage the Aerospace/Aviation (including the Boeing 787 Composite Materials Manufacturing Plant, GE Cold Weather Testing Facility & Magellan/Bristol Aerospace), Agri-Business (including Mac-Don Machinery and Winpak Packaging), and Workforce Development Training (including Red River College & Magellan Aerospace), MXD was engaged to assess the airport’s Commercial Land Development Opportunities focusing on three distinct Opportunity Areas around the airside system. Defining a Multi-Modal (Air-Rail-Truck) Logistics Supply Chain Management Strategy in conjunction with the adjacent CentrePort Canada, as well as working with Economic Development Winnipeg Inc. to articulate the Land-Use and Mobility Framework for stimulating job creation and redevelopment, as key components of the Airport Connected Development Strategy.
