Okotoks Sets Strategic 20-Year Vision to Transform and Diversify Its Commercial and Industrial Landscape
Okotoks is planning for future commercial and industrial growth, guided by a study from MXD Development Strategists. Andrew Fayn, principal at MXD, presented the findings to Council, highlighting projected 20-year needs for up to 3 million sq. ft. of industrial space, along with significant office, retail, and hotel development. He identified agri-business, clean energy, logistics, and professional services as key growth sectors. Fayn emphasized the importance of phasing development in areas like Northpoint and Southbank, supported by infrastructure like the planned Highway 2 interchange, to attract business and support sustainable growth.
