Redefining Perimeter Center with Edge City 2.0, a visionary blueprint blending suburban comfort and urban vibrancy in Dunwoody.
The success of Perimeter Center in Dunwoody, Georgia as a regional activity center can be attributed to the popularity of the area as a workplace for many major employers and a retail destination with Perimeter Mall at its core. As a part of the rapidly growing Atlanta region, Pond & Company and MXD were retained to assist the City in thinking about the Perimeter Center’s future.
Edge City 2.0 is a blueprint for strategic growth and defines the preferred future of the area based on collective input from elected officials, the DeKalb Board of the Perimeter Community Improvement District, major property owners, governmental partners, and community members. This vision document focuses on activating Perimeter Center with greenspace, mobility enhancements and more for residents, workers, and visitors to enjoy. This vision document allows the City to engage developers and property owners at the “planning stages” of new projects to articulate exactly what the community wants. Dunwoody currently has a unique opportunity to create the best of both worlds: combining the ease and comfort of suburban life with the energy and pulse of an urban center.
MXD’s Real Estate Market Analysis was a key item in generating three distinct planning scenarios to determine the roadmap on the future of Edge City.
