Project Description
Boosting retail revenue at Hong Kong International Airport with strategic planning and design.
MXD worked with global architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) to study and design a commercial retail project at Hong Kong International Airport. MXD tasks included retail positioning and merchandise mix, tenant districting and mix layout planning, and vertical and horizontal circulation patterns to ensure that the project achieves the highest possible sales and rent revenue.
Hong Kong International Airport aims to capture an increasing proportion of retail spending from airport users. The team defined a retail development strategy arranged across vertical, horizontal, and phasing dimensions that will attract customers and help the airport meet its non-aeronautical revenue goals.
