Driving Vancouver International Airport’s growth with innovative strategies to elevate retail, non-aeronautical revenues, and community engagement.
MXD has been involved in the Landside Commercial Land Development Planning and Terminal Retail Strategies for Vancouver International Airport (YVR), to generate and push their Non-Aeronautical Revenues towards the goal of over 60%. These strategies have become the prescriptive guidebook for airport staff in implementing the Optimal Tenant Mix, Targeting Specific Market Segments, Introducing new Commercial, Hotel, Niche Office Segments, Economic Development, Entertainment and Retail Concepts for growing Retail Sales and Lease Revenue. MXD completed a development strategy for YVR to create a Lifestyle Recreation Retail Center on the airport’s property that will work in conjunction with the 2010 Winter Olympic Ice Oval Training Center and adjacent Fraser River to provide amenities to the airport hotels, conference facilities and business park, as well as to attract the local trade area population base. MXD’s work with YVR has also involved identifying development/investor/retail tenants, financial analysis, marketing, implementation and deal structures.
