Tara Boulevard LCI Study Wins 2025 GA ASLA Merit Award

MXD is proud to announce that the Tara Boulevard Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Study has been honored with the 2025 GA ASLA Merit Award in Analysis and Planning by the Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).

This initiative reimagines an 11-mile, auto-oriented corridor in Clayton County, Georgia, as a resilient civic spine that prioritizes mobility, equity, and public life. Guided by extensive community input, the plan establishes a bold yet implementable framework for transforming Tara Boulevard into a more inclusive, connected, and vibrant regional corridor.

MXD contributed expertise in land use planning, real estate, and market feasibility, ensuring that the vision is supported by grounded strategies and achievable outcomes.

We are honored to have collaborated with Pond & Company, VHB, Clayton County, Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance, Inc., the Atlanta Regional Commission, and numerous local jurisdictions and community stakeholders whose leadership and partnership shaped this ambitious vision. The recognition from GA ASLA underscores the strength of these collaborations and the innovative planning behind the re-envisioning of one of Clayton County’s most significant corridors.

MXD congratulates all project partners on this much-deserved recognition, and we look forward to seeing the Tara Boulevard LCI plan continue to guide transformative investment and community-building in the years ahead.
