MXD Development Strategists was pleased to participate in the 2026 Sustainable Airport Areas International Conference (SAAIC), held October 1-2 in Montréal. The conference brought together airport, economic development, real estate, and industry leaders from around the world to discuss the evolving role of airports as catalysts for economic growth and innovation.
MXD Vice-President Andrew Fayn joined international experts for two panel discussions focused on economic diversification in airport areas and the emerging role of the agri-food sector in supporting regional prosperity and resilience.
Andrew also served as moderator for a panel exploring the transformation of airports into energy hubs and the opportunities this shift could create for attracting strategic industries, including data centres.
The conference provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with international leaders and share MXD’s experience in airport city development, economic development, real estate, land use planning, and development strategy.
